GOULBURN STRATHBOGIE OLIVE GROWERS ASSOCIATION

Charter and Objectives

The Goulburn Strathbogie Olive Growers Association was established on 9th May 1999. It comprises parties with interest in growing, processing and marketing of olives and olive products within the general region called Goulburn and Strathbogie, covering centres such as Euroa, Terip Terip, Molesworth and surrounding areas.

The Association's Charter is:

The promotion of olive growing, processing and marketing to the mutual benefit of members of the Association in such a way as to optimize production costs while maximizing profit".

The Association's Objectives are:

1.

To share information relating to olive growing to the mutual benefit of the members of the Association. This includes such things as soil and land preparation, selection of species, irrigation, planting, maintenance, suppliers of support services and equipment.

   
2.

To act as a single unit so as to provide optimum services at lowest cost and unity of representation in issues or opportunities of common interest to members of the Association. This includes such areas as purchasing of trees, other equipment and services required by Olive Growers and where appropriate approaches to government and /or other authorities are required.

   
3.

To develop and implement plans for the picking of olives in the most cost efficient manner applicable to members of the Association so as to optimize the costs and yields from individual's investments in Olives.

   
4.

To develop and implement plans for cost efficient, high quality processing of olives so as to provide optimum processing at lowest costs to members of the Association.

   
5.

To develop and implement plans for the marketing of olive products, consistent with trade practice laws so as to optimize returns from the product mix sold and maximize return to members of the Association.
